Shore Dive Bare Island – Saturday June 22nd – 10am

This would be the second most dive site behind Shelly Beach in Sydney. The walk to the water is a little more strenuous, but the variety of marine life here is second to none for shore dives. The island itself offers protection from the prevailing weather conditions, and you can reach up to 20 meters on the south western side of the island. For a detailed site description click herehttp://www.frogdive.com.au/maps/sydney/bare-island/ We have planned a dive here for Saturday June 22nd, and we ask that contact the boys on 99585699 to book. Buddies will be organised after the brief has been given at 10am at the site.

Shor Dive Clifton Gardens Sunday June 16th – 10am

Clifton Gardens is one of the most protected shore dives in Sydney. Regardless of ocean conditions, this site offers real diving all year round. You can actually achieve reasonable depth here to about 15 mtrs. But the attraction is in fact the macro marine life, a photographer’s heaven with John Dory, indian fish, sea horses and a myriad of nudibranchs. We have scheduled a dive here for the 16th June, meeting at 10am. We simply ask that you book by calling 99585699 and give the boys your mobile number and level of diving experience. The brief wille given at the site at 10am, and if you require any equipment please book that at the time of your booking. You can view a more detailed site description by clicking here http://www.frogdive.com.au/maps/sydney/clifton-gardens/

Shore Dive Saturday 8th June – Shelly Beach 10am

The weather predictions for this weekend show green flags all the way, which means that our planned dive at Shelly beach will be a cracker. In fact the diving conditions since Tuesday this week have been great, so expect a better than average dive on Saturday. How do you book? For every dive we run we require that each diver calls the shop on 99585699. The boys will take your name, number and experience level and give you a meeting time at the site. We insist that the number you give us is contactable on the day in case of any changes. In this case divers will meet at Shelly beach at 10am for the dive brief. It is at that time that buddies will be arranged and a comprehensive brief given. For more actual details on the dive site you can visit this link on our web page http://www.frogdive.com.au/maps/sydney/shelly-beach-club-dive/  . If you require any gear, please organise this with your closest Frog Dive store beforehand.

Shore Dive Bare Island – Saturday 25th May – 10am

It has been a while since we have been able to dive on the Eastern side of Bare island due to ocean conditions. With the start of the westerly winds we may find that diving on Saturday may enable us to explore that side of the island as the breeze will be coming from the west. The air temperature may be a little chilly, but the water is still fantastic at 19-20 degrees. We have also had reports of some good visibility of late. If you wish to join the group and dive at Bare Island, please make sure that you book first by calling 99585699 and tell the boys how experienced you are. Buddies will be organised on the day, so don’t worry if you are a single diver. For a more detailed site description click here http://www.frogdive.com.au/maps/sydney/bare-island/

Weekly email 24/4/13

Gday Froggies,

The diving conditions for this weekend are SENSATIONAL! No wind and no swell……so read below to join us for a dive on Saturday with the infamous Mick Dolton. Again the weather predictions for tomorrow are also good, and please be aware that both stores are closed for Anzac Day, and will re open on Friday.

SHORE DIVE SATURDAY – BARE ISLAND – 10am

Mick Dolton is the resident Bare Island expert at Frog Dive, and he has kindly donated his time to lead a dive on Saturday meeting at the bridge at 10am. Please ensure that you call 99585699 to book your spot…..and if you personally know Mick, we still ask that you call the number to let us know as we are limited with the number of divers we can take. For more information regarding the actual dive site you can click here  http://www.frogdive.com.au/maps/sydney/bare-island/

FORSTER WEEKEND AWAY – MAY 11TH and 12TH

Without doubt, the best time of the year to dive at Forster is throughout the months of March,  April and May, as the grey nurse sharks are in their numbers as it is their breeding season. Plus the water is at its warmest, which brings with it massive numbers of schooling fish and pelagics. We have as many as 80 grey nurse sharks congregate during these months in past years. We strongly suggest, that if you really want to experience some truly great scuba diving, then book yourself on this weekend with us. You can view a great short video by clicking here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqelE-r6mzg&feature=player_embedded   We provide a divemaster to run the weekend, and simple accommodation and breakfast is included, along with 4 great boat dives and your second tank with air fills. The cost for the weekend is only $365 or $345 team members. It is a self drive weekend away, arriving anytime on Friday and leaving at about lunchtime on Sunday. The boat is big and stable, and we can organise hire equipment from either store beforehand if required. Do not miss this opportunity………

SOUTH WEST ROCKS – Dive Fish Rock Cave – June Long weekend 8/9/10

There are so many options to dive with us this year for short breaks. You can easily book on every weekend away listed in this email, and get to experience the best diving NSW has to offer. South West Rocks has the most famous cave dive in NSW at Fish Rock. You are required to be an Advance diver to do this dive, and although it sounds ominous, the cave dive is really quite easy to do. You will obviously require a good underwater torch to go through it, and probably a backup one as well! Apart from the cave dive this whole area is home to a colony of grey nurse sharks, and turtles and pelagic fish frequent the area often. If this will be your first time there, it will not be your last. Accommodation, air, 6 boat dives are all included for $450 or $425 team members.  As usual we provide a divemaster to organise everyone over the weekend. You can book a spot on this weekend away or on all 3 if you wish by calling your local Frog Dive store. Do not leave it until the last minute!

Clifton Gardens shore dive – Saturday 13th April – 10am

We are so lucky in Sydney, as we have so many options to dive from either the shore or from a boat. Our shore dives are generally easy dives to do, and they come without the cost associated with boat dives. The marine life in Sydney is truly underestimated, and Clifton Gardens is one of those sites. Clifton Gardens is within the habour, and is a protected area full of small critters that make wonderful photographic subjects. You can view a more detailed site description by clickng here  http://www.frogdive.com.au/maps/sydney/clifton-gardens/ We have planned a dive there for Saturday the 13th April, and as usual, we will have a divemster there to conduct a brief and organise you all into buddy pairs. If you would like to join us on this dive, then please call the boys on 99585699  to book, or you can enter your details at the bottom of the page and they will contact you.

Shelly Beach shore dive – April 7th -10am

Shelly beach has been firing of late with the warmer waters bringing in species such as lionfish and spangled emperor. Shelly is one of the few beaches that face west and in turn provides shelter from most prevailing conditions…..hence the fish life. We have scheduled a shore dive meeting at 10am where we can organise a buddy if required. These dives are easy and uncomplicated, so feel free to attend, however we ask that you book by calling 99585699 prior to ensure that there is a space for you.
