Dusky whaler sharks at Shelly beach

What a great couple of days diving we had last weekend at Shelly Beach. We had a dive course on Saturday and a social dive with Elliott on Sunday….and both groups came across the now resident Dusky whaler sharks! They are only small at about 1 to 1.5 mtrs long, but have become used to having divers around them. There is also a couple of resident spangled emperors making this great site their home. The water is still good at 19 degrees.

HARBORD – SUNDAY – 9am at shop, or 10am at site.

Peter Lees will be escorting a dive at Harbord this Sunday. You can either meet at the store at 9am, or venture to the dive site at 10am for the brief. The weather this Sunday will be so much better than what we have experienced in the last few days, so do not be put off. You will need to call Peter on 0412285076 if you wish to come along.

We have only 2 positions available now to dive the sensational Fish Rock Cave at South West Rocks over the long weekend. We know a few of you have expressed interest on attending, but the trip was previously full…..well here is your chance….first in best dressed. Call either store asap.

You beauty!! We are heading back to the fabulous Bass Point at Shellhabour next Sunday, the 12th June. Yes it is about 1.5 hours drive south of Sydney, but this area has so many diving sites that are fantastic shore dives. We must insist that if you are intending to come along for the dive, that you email luke@frogdive.com.au to ensure we have the staff to cater for the numbers and also, the food. We have the opportunity to dive the Gutter, Bushrangers Bay or the Graveloader. We will meet at the car park for the Gutter dive at 9am. If you want a different dive to those in Sydney, then you should venture down south with us for this one.

Accommodation….great. Boat dives…….fantastic. Marine life…….unbelievable. Excitement….unmeasurable. Value for money……..absolutely. A relatively short drive from Sydney will see you staying in the beautiful Port Stephens, where we plan to do 4 dives with the crazy boys from Feet First. We will head north out from the Port up to the picturesque Broughton Island, and dive into the majestic Looking Glass which is a cut into the rocky outcrops of the island. Break the shackles and do something different, and we will have a professionally run weekend exposing you to many sights you have dreamed of seeing. You do not need to be anything other than an openwater diver……but you will need a torch!!! Call either store to book…..space will fill quickly on this fun weekend of diving.

We thought a little bit of notice would be appreciated for the announcement of our 2011 Dry suit trial day at Long Bay on the 10th July. It is a way off yet, but if you would like to give these suits a go, please register via email your sex, height and weight to either luke@frogdive.com.au or john@frogdive.c om.au

As we have mentioned above the water temperature is currently at 19 degrees. The temperature will continue to drop over the coming months, but generally the visibility will improve. If you do not want to stop diving, simply add some thermal garments to your wetsuit to improve your comfort level in the cooler water months. Check out our great range of Lavacore and Sharkskin online at www.frogdive.com.au and click on the thermal garments section in the online cart.

BOAT SHOW – July 28th – August 1st

Each year we have a display at the boat show where we operate an actual dive tank with divers inside it. We always need your help with this by volunteering your time to be the scuba diver inside the tank waving to people. If you can spare some time to do this we would appreciate it, and you can email john@frogdive.com.au to organise a time slot. Thank you in anticipation……
