Treasure hunt – this Sunday

All the talk is about the treasure hunt and the weather! Yes we are about to see some poor weather move through Friday evening and Saturday. But the good news is that we will be there on Sunday, with the wind dropping to around 15 knots and we all know that there is no swell at Balmoral. So bring your chair and dive gear for the mayhem that is the annual Frog Dive treasure hunt.

First of all let us thank the supporters of our annual Treasure hunt. To run this event comes at great cost to all those involved, and we appreciate everyone’s support. We have just reached the $10k in prizes to distribute on Sunday. That is truly a massive amount of gifts!

The Frog Dive staff arrive early on Sunday to setup. We will begin taking registrations from around 8am. The cost to participate is $30 /$25 team members [and those just wanting to be fed $15]. Please note if you are a member, bring your team card on the day. All monies raised goes towards the ever increasing maintenance of the team trailer and sorts. Please note that a parking fee must be paid at Balmoral. You will be issued with a wrist band, to indicate to the staff that you have registered. Luke will do the brief for the dive at 9am. We will organise buddies then, and you will log in with a divemaster on the beach and also log out upon exit.

The dive itself is pretty average. The main purpose is to find yourself 1 potato per diver, which will be exchanged for a raffle ticket when you log out of the water, with the divemaster you logged in with. If after finding your potato, you wish to continue on and dive around the nets with the seahorses, then you may do so. Lunch will be served to everyone who has their wrist band, with steak, chicken, snags, salads, cakes, soft drinks all supplied. It is a massive effort for the Chefs, Luke and Ben! Once we have exhausted the food, we will draw the prizes… is the fairest way we can think of with everyone having an equal chance to win. What are some of the prizes……

A Mike Ball 11 dive expedition from Cairns, an Oceanic limited edition watch, a Scubapro regulator, Sharkskin product from Neptune Wetsuits, a $300 travel voucher with Allways travel, a Cressi Sub semi dry 7mm wetsuit, an Intova underwater torch and camera, 15 silicone mask and snorkel sets value $150 each, Padi backpacks, wheeled bag from Omer / Esclapez, weekends away, and it continues……….

So how do you participate? First you need to email and inform him of how many people will require feeding, you will need to bring your own chairs to relax in, and you will need to bring your own gear to dive in. Everyone is welcome……..
