Treasure hunt washout, scuba diving this weekend

Congratulations to all the winners last weekend at Balmoral for our annual treasure hunt. The top prize went to Helen Giffney, an 11 dive Mike Ball dive holiday! Helen, we expect you to leave Daniel home with the bub! We would also like to thank all our suppliers and all our staff that helped on the day, including chefs Beno, Chris and Elliott! We hope you all enjoyed the opportunity to win and socialise!

Good luck to the crew heading off to Jervis Bay this weekend with Bruce Beavis leading the pack…..sorry Bruce but there is only room for you on the couch! The weather looks a treat, and the seals will be there in numbers. There is no space available.

Mick Dolton has volunteered to escort you all on a dive at Bare Island meeting at 9.30am. we only ask that you call Mick on 0404004358 to let him know that you are going, and also in case of it being cancelled. As I mentione4d above the weather looks great! Call either store to book any hire gear.

When the weather is good this site really shines. Lots of caves and overhangs to explore, massive amounts of fish, and the depth is suitable for all divers. If the weather is not favourable on the day, we will move around to Shelly Beach and run the dive from there. Therefore it is extremely important that everyone contacts us prior, so we can inform you of any change in location. You will need to email and list your mobile contact number with him. We will be running the boat on the day, diving great sites such as Dee Why wide, and Bluefish point.

We have organised a couple of trips to dive the wreck of the Adelaide from the Omega 2 in October. The 2 dates are the 15th October and the 23rd October. There are 4 trips leaving from 8am, 10am, 12 noon, and 2pm on the 15th, and a double dive is $140.00. The boat will leave from the Haven at Terrigal. Get there early for parking! Also we have 2 dives on the 23rd leaving from Bayview at 7am and driving in the boat to the dive site for a double dive, same cost. Book now to get on !

How great are the guys at Feet First in Port Stephens. Every time we go there, they do their best to ensure the weekend is something you will never forget. The great thing about this sport is that we create lifelong memories, and attending this trip will ensure you add to your lifetime of experiences. You can see grey nurse sharks, caves, schools of jewfish and kings, massive schooling fish, and the accommodation is fantastic. Shane from Feet First organises a winery tour for the Saturday afternoon, and we will have a divemaster to assist any level of scuba diver that wishes to attend. Hire gear for the weekend is only $80, and everyone’s second tank is supplied as part of the fee. The cost for this adventure is only $325 team / $350 others.

CHRISTMAS PARTY – December 3rd – Angelos on the Bay

Bookings are now being accepted for the party of the year. Come as an individual or book a table of 10, either way this night is truly a night to let your hair down. The dress is formal, the drinks are included, and the food is ALWAYS sensational. We have done many venues over the past decades, and this place outshines all of them. The service is amazing, as you will only have 1 drink all night…..the waiters ensure that your glass is never empty. This will be our fourth consecutive year [from memory] and that is a record. The view from the restaurant is beautiful, and we dance! Call either store or email your interest asap as we are limited in numbers and we usually disappoint people, due to the lack of positions available. The cost is about $130 each, to be confirmed.

On a sad note ……

In the last 3 weeks we have lost 3 men aged between 40 and 46 years of age. Scott McKenzie’s brother, Sandra Bucknell’s brother and long time froggie Rod Weir, have all suddenly passed on. To all their families and friends, we truly pass on our condolences.
